These are all controlled (steering, braking and gears) by the rider on the right \u2013 who we call the \u2018pilot\u2019. The rider on the left is able to help move things along by pedalling, or in the case of Plum by hand cranking. All the cycles have gears and safety \u2018parking\u2019 brakes as well as various other\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.companioncycling.org.uk\/index.php\/our-cycles\/safety-features\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">safety features<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p align=\"right\"><strong>\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 Twin Riders<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-69 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.companioncycling.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/howie3.jpg\" alt=\"howie3\" width=\"151\" height=\"175\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">We have\u00a0four similar\u00a0twin cycles which are two normal bikes joined together to link the steering, braking and\u00a0pedalling. The person on the right hand bike has all the controls whilst the person on the left hand bike can help with the pedalling. The comfortable seats and low seating position makes this cycle very stable and easy to control.
